HOW IT WORKS

The Editorial Process

Article Review

Once an article and all supplemental materials are submitted via the submissions page, our editors review the submission.

Publication Decision

An editor will notify the author(s) whether the article has been accepted or rejected. We generally don't provide substantive feedback for rejected articles, although, we may suggest revisions and resubmission.

Article Preparation

Our editors undertake a more thorough review of the article and make changes consistent with our internal style guidelines, formatting constraints, and readability considerations, as well as check for citation errors. We provide the author(s) with a page proof or galley of the final article before publication.

Outside Author Agreement

All authors must sign an outside author agreement before publication and may choose to retain copyright. We will email you a digital copy of the agreement to sign.

Article Publication

An editor emails you a link and PDF of your article in Tax Notes once published. We encourage authors to share their work on social media and to tag Tax Notes on LinkedIn and Twitter. For requests to republish or repost the article, click here.

Submission Guidelines

We have compiled a PDF with all the information you need to publish with Tax Notes, including our full list of FAQs.
