U.S. Seventh Circuit Orders Acquittal of Individual Found With Unstamped Cigarettes

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit vacated the conviction of an individual who was found with 1,170 packs of unstamped cigarettes in Indiana, holding that the possession of the cigarettes is insufficient to show that he intended to sell the cigarettes in Indiana, and thus the cigarettes were not required to bear Indiana stamps.
