New Mexico Governor, Lawmakers Agree to Tax Incentive Package for Special Session

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez (R) announced an agreement with state lawmakers to pass a tax incentive package during a special legislative session that would expand the angel investment tax credit, restore the unreimbursed medical expense tax deduction, and allow companies with headquarters in the state to elect single-sales-factor apportionment.

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez (R) announced an agreement with state lawmakers to pass a tax incentive package during a special legislative session that would expand the angel investment tax credit, restore the unreimbursed medical expense tax deduction, and allow companies with headquarters in the state to elect single-sales-factor apportionment. <p>The package would also reenact the border zone trade-support gross receipts tax deduction, establish the U.S. Department of Defense energy gross receipts tax deduction, and expand and combine the technology jobs tax credit and the small business research and development tax credit.</p>
