Florida Governor Calls for Supermajority Requirement for Tax Increases in State of the State Address

In his final State of the State address, Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) called for the passage of a constitutional amendment by voters that would require two-thirds of the legislature to vote for a tax increase in order for it to become law; a reduction in driver's license fees; a new sales tax holiday for school supplies; and an extended sales tax holiday for hurricane supplies.
