The Chairman wishes to inform Members that the Committee on Finance will meet on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., in 215 Dirksen Senate Office Building, to consider the following pending nominations.
The following nominees are scheduled to testify:
Michael N. Nemelka, of Utah, to be a Deputy United States Trade Representative (Investment, Services, Labor, Environment, Africa, China, and the Western Hemisphere), with the rank of Ambassador, vice C. J. Mahoney. Christian N. Weiler, of Louisiana, to be a Judge of the United States Tax Court for a term of fifteen years, vice Albert G. Lauber, term expiring. Alina I. Marshall, of Virginia, to be a Judge of the United States Tax Court for a term of fifteen years, vice L. Paige Marvel, term expiring
Additional nominees may be added at a later date.
For this hearing, the Senate Committee on Finance will follow guidelines developed in consultation with the Office of the Attending Physician (OAP), the Senate Sergeant at Arms, and the Senate Rules Committee to protect the health of Members, witnesses, staff and the public. This includes maintaining six-foot social distance spacing in the hearing room. Members can also join the hearing via video conference. A link to join the video conference will be sent by the Chief Clerk to all schedulers later this week.
The Chairman urges every Member to attend.
