Americans for Tax Fairness called on New Jersey to reform its income tax code by increasing the tax rate on annual earnings above $250,000; the group also suggested restoring a previously repealed estate tax, maintaining the 2.5 percent corporate tax surcharge, closing tax avoidance loopholes, and restoring the sales tax to 7 percent, as well as expanding it to include more luxury services, citing increasing wealth inequality during the COVID-19 pandemic.
