Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly (D) released the first volume of her revised budget recommendations for fiscal 2022, which prioritize economic recovery from COVID-19 by leaving out business and individual income tax increases; through October 2020, fiscal 2021 collections from individual income tax, corporate income tax, and retail sales and compensating use tax were above the prior estimates by $47.7 million, $37.9 million, and $32.3 million, respectively, although collections are expected to decline in fiscal 2022.
The governor also released the second volume of her budget report.
