Hawaii Governor Proposes Income, Excise Tax Increases in State of the State Address

In his State of the State address, Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie (D) proposed eliminating the state deduction for state income taxes in the definition of taxable income, treating pension income like all other income for tax purposes, increasing the state's alcohol tax, and enacting a fee on soda and similar drinks.
