Subject: Estate Taxes
The Honorable Senator Mikulski,
[3] I find the comments of Deputy Secretary Lawrence Summers to be quite offensive and insensitive. His high position in the Treasury Department make these comments concerning those who want to decrease estate taxes quite serious.
[4] I believe the Deputy Secretary should be immediately asked to step down. People who are trying to save family businesses and family farms from ruinous estate taxes are not selfish. Thank you for any action you can take on behalf of the over-taxed citizens of Maryland. Estate taxes have caused the loss of too many family farms in Montgomery County.
Sincerely,
Samuel G. Maller
