New York City Comptroller Releases Fiscal 2021 Annual Financial Report

The New York City comptroller has released the city's annual comprehensive financial report for fiscal 2021, reporting that total revenues were $11.56 billion higher than the adopted budget projections, largely because of an additional $6.89 billion in tax revenues; the comptroller also attributed the growth to the city's "considerably" improved economic outlook following the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines and the lifting of pandemic-related restrictions.

The comptroller also issued a press release summarizing the major findings of the report.
