Washington, DC — Next Wednesday, May 4, at 2 p.m., the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Taxation & IRS Oversight, chaired by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), will hold a hearing entitled, “Laws and Enforcement Governing the Political Activities of Tax-Exempt Entities.” The hearing will examine the ways in which special interests exploit outdated IRS regulations to funnel enormous quantities of unaccountable dark money into our elections through 501(c)(4) organizations.
