Updated FAQ Extends Deadline for Exchanging FATCA Data

The IRS has updated a prior list of frequently asked questions on Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act requirements, extending the deadline in question 5 of the reporting section from September 30 to December 31 for Model 1 intergovernmental agreement jurisdictions to provide their FATCA data for 2019 to the U.S. competent authority and adding a new question 18 under the registration update section.

Clarification, April 17, 2020: The document abstract has been updated to make clear that the extended deadline is not part of the newly added question 18.
