The Taxation and Revenue Department has resumed auctions of properties on which the state has been unable to collect delinquent taxes. Auctions had been suspended since the beginning of the COVID-19 public health emergency.

The state attempts to collect delinquent property taxes when counties are unable to do so. If the state is unable to collect the delinquent taxes, the subject properties are auctioned for sale.

Taxation and Revenue intends to schedule auctions in all New Mexico counties by the end of the current fiscal year on June 30, 2022.

Auctions have been scheduled in the following counties in November.

Sandoval County. When: 9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021. Where: 1500 Idalia Road, Building D, Bernalillo.

Only registered bidders will be allowed in the auction room in an effort to minimize COVID-19 risks. Masks will be required. Bidders must follow any other COVID- safe protocols and restrictions required by the counties where the auctions are held.
