New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) released his proposed fiscal 2022 budget, which includes approximately $380 million in COVID-19 tax relief for middle-class families in the form of rebates of up to $500 as a result of the millionaire tax created by 2020 legislation; the budget also includes $19.6 billion in funding for property tax programs, as well as expansions to the child and dependent care credit and the earned income tax credit.

The governor's proposals were announced in a press release.
