Sens. Bill Nelson, Tom Carper, and Robert Menendez
slated to join
Washington, DC -- U.S. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D.-Mont.) tonight welcomed the news that Democratic Senators Bill Nelson (D-Fla.), Tom Carper (D-Del.), and Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) are expected to join the Finance panel in the 111th Congress. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) announced anticipated committee assignments for Democratic Senators this evening.
"The Finance Committee can grow and benefit from the service of these fine Senators," said Baucus. "Senators Nelson, Carper, and Menendez are good friends as well as good colleagues, and I know that they will provide perspective and leadership as varied as their home states. From economic recovery to health care reform and beyond, the Finance Committee has a big agenda and enormous responsibilities this year. I look forward to the full Committee being seated, and to working with each of our new members to serve the American people."
