Bishop Calls for Support for Prioritizing Mobile Workforce Act

Dear Senator:

Thank you for your support of S.540/H.R.1393, the Mobile Workforce Act. As you know, this legislation would simplify the state income tax requirements for employees who work multiple days per year outside the state of their residence. As the result of your support, and that of many of your colleagues, this legislation has 61 cosponsors in the Senate today, and has already passed the House, making it one of the most widely supported bills in Congress. At a time when Americans are looking for Congress to work together, passing this bill is one step we can take in the right direction.

With time running short in this Congress, I am writing to ask that you advocate for inclusion of this bill in any legislative vehicle moving the rest of this year. This bill has passed the House the past two Congresses and has the support necessary to pass the Senate on its own merits. Given our limited window of opportunity, I ask that you please voice your support to your leadership and make enacting this legislation a priority.
