Important Message about your PTIN application!!
Dear Tax Professional,
We received your payment and Form W-12, IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) Application, and apologize we have not completed processing it. We estimate we will complete the processing of your application, or request additional information if needed, within 6 weeks.
Because you have made a good faith effort to comply with the new PTIN requirement, you may prepare returns for clients during the interim period while your application is pending. You may use a PTIN issued before Sept. 28, 2010, or your social security number, if you do not have a previously issued PTIN, as the preparer identification number on returns you prepare during this interim period.
Note: If multiple applications were submitted with this email address, this message is in response to all of them. Separate messages will not be sent for each application.
