Delinquent property tax auctions scheduled this month

The Taxation and Revenue Department has resumed auctions of properties on which the state has been unable to collect delinquent taxes. Auctions had been suspended since the beginning of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
The state attempts to collect delinquent property taxes when counties are unable to do so. If the state is unable to collect the delinquent taxes, the subject properties are auctioned for sale.
Taxation and Revenue intends to schedule auctions in all 33 New Mexico counties by the end of the current fiscal year on June 30, 2022.
Auctions have been scheduled in the following counties in October.
Otero County. When: Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021 at 9 a.m. Where: 1104 N White Sands Blvd, Suite A, Alamogordo NM
Sierra County. When: Wednesday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m. Where: 100 N Date St, Suite 13, Truth or Consequences NM
Socorro County. When: Thursday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m. Where: 200 Church Street, Socorro
Catron County. When: Tuesday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m. Where: 123 Main Street, Reserve
Hidalgo County. When: Wednesday, Oct. 20, 9 a.m. Where: 300 South Shakespeare Street, Lordsburg
Grant County. When: Thursday, Oct. 21, 9 a.m. Where: 1400 Highway 180 East, Silver City
Taos County. When: Tuesday, Oct. 26, 9 a.m. Where: 105 Albright Street, Suite G, Taos
Torrance County. When: Wednesday, Oct. 27, 9 a.m. Where:205 S Ninth Street, Estancia.

Only registered bidders will be allowed in the auction room in an effort to minimize COVID-19 risks. Masks will be required. Bidders must follow any other COVID-safe protocols and restrictions required by the counties where the auctions are held.
