Pryce Statement on Democrat
Social Security Press Event
WASHINGTON, DC-House Republican Conference Chairman Deborah Pryce (R-OH) today issued the following statement in response to House and Senate Democrats' afternoon press conference on Social Security:
"If Democrats are on the hunt for negative opinions on saving Social Security, why don't they educate their constituents about the 27 percent benefit cut they'll face if reforms are not made, or the $600-billion-a-year tax hikes their children and grandchildren will inherit when Social Security goes bankrupt? Democrats would be wise to tell the people who sent them to Washington the whole story on Social Security and be ready to do more than heckle and hinder progress."
