Amanda Athanasiou is a chief correspondent for Tax Notes Today International and Tax Notes International and covers a range of international issues with a focus on cross-border M&A, U.S. tax litigation involving multinationals, U.S. and foreign international tax rules, Canadian tax developments and litigation, environmental taxation, and gender and diversity in tax law. Before joining Tax Analysts, Amanda worked as a tax associate at a national law firm on matters involving planning, controversy, and M&A for large corporations. She also represented high net worth individuals on FBAR and planning matters. Amanda received a J.D. from Berkeley Law at UC Berkeley in 2007 and was admitted to the California Bar the same year.
