ORDER OF THE COMMISSIONER OF REVENUE

I, Vernon Barnett, Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Revenue, pursuant to the power granted to me under §40-2-11, Code of Alabama 1975, hereby declare that because there is a state of emergency resulting from the potential spread of the COV1D-19 virus, it is necessary to assist and expedite all efforts of relief. Nothing in this Executive Order shall be construed to allow any vehicle to operate in the State of Alabama without valid registration and insurance from its base state, nor shall anything in this Executive Order be construed to allow any vehicle to exceed weight limits posted for bridges and like structures, nor shall anything in this Executive Order be construed to relieve any vehicle or the carrier, owner, or driver of any vehicle from compliance with any restrictions other than those specified in this Executive Order, or from any statute, rule, order or other legal requirement not specifically waived herein.

Because of the ongoing state of emergency resulting from COVID-19, this Executive Order shall be effective until the end of thirty (30) days after the signing of the Executive Order.
