MTC Spring Committee Meetings to Be Conducted by Phone Due to COVID-19

Dated Mar. 20, 2020

SUMMARY BY TAX ANALYSTS

The Multistate Tax Commission announced in an email that in response to COVID-19, it is cancelling in-person participation for the spring committee meetings scheduled for April 20-23, 2020, and will instead be conducting the meetings by telephone; an updated schedule will be provided soon.

Changes to MTC Spring Committee Meetings; April 20 - 23, 2020

With the nation-wide outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and the unprecedented steps taken by national and state governments to address the potential health and public safety crises caused by this outbreak, it should come as no surprise to you that the MTC is cancelling in-person participation for the meetings scheduled for our Spring Committee Meeting week April 20th through 23rd, 2020, in Alexandria, Virginia. Even though we are cancelling in-person participation, we will be holding telephonic meetings for the committees (Litigation, Audit, Nexus, Uniformity, Strategic Planning, and Executive) set to meet that week.

We will be providing soon an updated schedule with minor adjustments to meeting dates and times and an agenda for each meeting that will look in most cases slightly different than the usual agendas for our committee meetings. So please keep those dates (April 20th through 23rd) available so you may participate in these meetings even though we will not be seeing you in Alexandria next month.

And I want to apologize for the delay in getting this information to you, but we have been working through some logistical issues that arose and had to be dealt with when cancelling the in-person meetings and moving to telephonic meetings. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions concerning the upcoming Spring Committee Meeting week.
