<div> MAINE TAX ALERT  <div class="indented">A Publication of Maine Revenue Services for Tax Professionals</div> Volume 30, Issue 5March 2020 - #4     Maine Revenue Services Is Accepting Income Tax Payments and Returns On March 27, 2020, Maine Revenue Services (MRS) issued a Tax Alert announcing that the payment and filing deadline for Maine income and franchise tax payments and returns normally due on April 15, 2020 is extended to July 15, 2020. Taxpayers who are able to file and pay are still encouraged to do so as soon as possible, as MRS continues to accept income tax payments and returns. Also, as previously announced, payment and filing deadlines for all other Maine taxes remain unchanged. This includes sales tax and income tax withholding, both which are “trust fund” taxes and have already been respectively collected or withheld. MRS intends to post more information regarding frequently asked questions we have received.
