Louisiana Changes Apportionment Methods for Firms, Sourcing Methods for Sales of Services

Louisiana HB 20, signed into law as Act 8 of the Second Extraordinary Session, changes the apportionment calculation for oil and gas firms to a four-factor average (with the sales factor included twice) and the apportionment calculation for other firms to a single ratio of their state income to their total income.

Louisiana HB 20, signed into law as Act 8 of the Second Extraordinary Session, changes the apportionment calculation for oil and gas firms to a four-factor average (with the sales factor included twice) and the apportionment calculation for other firms to a single ratio of their state income to their total income. <p>The bill also requires that sales other than sales of tangible personal property be sourced to Louisiana if the taxpayer's market for sale is in the state.</p>
